• Review training, Be a Data Champion at Your Library, and select training for the next meeting
  • Data audit, privacy concerns. How long is patron-linked data retained? Stats required by state, reported to library board, requests from stakeholders for additional data – how to manage requests for quantitative data when should be qualitative. Face to face responses vs surveys. Rubric for assessing programs. What data isn’t being collected? Perform and share data audits to see what others are doing? Database search stats – de-anonymize for a period to see what groups use resources. Homework for next month – do quick data audit and share at next meeting
• Receive update on Mobac Tech Youtube channel, training and workshop videos
  • Latest video uploaded into 4 parts, John can work on consolidating short segments
  • Set-up video uploaded as private can be published once Katie adds subtitles. Then update links on MOBAC site.
  • Kristen will ask Admin Council about subscribing mobac-info to the Youtube channel
• Accessibility
  • Review web accessibility resources, questions and manual, and discuss next steps
    • Katie spoke to AASLH about collaborating on accessibility, sharing resources and experiences. Other organizations are also interested, Katie will be working with them. Shared video about museum making an online exhibit accessible, link in accessibility drive. Take-away – it’s important to talk to actual users who use adaptive technology
  • Receive demonstration of UserWay (userway.org), a free web accessibility widget
    • Installed on website to provide tools for page visitors. See it in action on Asian American Women Artists Association (aawaa.net)
