Present: Stacy DeMatteo, NPS; Steve Watkins, CSUMB; Chris Ricker, MCFL; Kristen Cardoso, MIIS; Deborah Stephens, HCL

Minutes

  1. Today’s recorder: Kristen Cardoso
  2. Agenda Review – approved with the addition of survey discussion
  3. Approve Minutes from last meeting – approved with two small corrections:
    • Correct spelling of Stacy DeMatteo (not Stacey)
    • Correct acronym for MIIS (not MIS)
  4. Admin Council: no report as last meeting was cancelled due to severe weather
  5. Hands-on Workshop
    • The workshop will be held from 8:30-noon on either Friday, April 17th or April 24th
    • Deborah will check with Watsonville for a northern location and email Ashlee to confirm
    • Steve will check with CSUMB for a southern location and email Ashlee to confirm
    • List of Presentations:
      1. GoToMeeting: Deborah
      2. Google Hangouts: Steve
      3. Skype: Stacy
      4. Collaborate: TBA – Steve will ask colleagues if they can present.
      5. JoinMe: TBA – Stacy will ask colleagues if they can present.
    • Presenters will need accounts, although attendees can decide if they want accounts to participate or just observe.
    • Chris will draft a template handout about each software and costs, which she will then share as a Google doc.
    • Presenters will use two devices: one to show their screen and one to show the audience in order to better replicate a virtual meeting. There will be no need for webcams.
    • Stephanie can make a flyer, but will need information about the location, date, and time.
    • There will be no other costs, so we should be able to afford refreshments, which may include pastries, nuts, string cheese, coffee, hot water, fruit, and water.
    • We will plan for about 15-20 participants at each site.
  6. New Business: Survey discussion
    • Steve will review the survey results and send out a summary to everyone
