  • Consideration: Best 10 in each category with one sentence annotation? Ben will talk to Eva
  • This will be the publication for next year (this year’s publication is the SPLAMBA brochure in Spanish)
  • Horn Book permission – We can send a copy of publication for sign-off

 

SPLAMBA Brochure

  • Jennifer and Esme worked on the translation – in final stage
  • Don will send letter to hospital administrators, and then a direct contact will be made to get the number of copies desired.
  • Once Cynthia gets the numbers, she will make arrangements to print the brochure

Administrative Report – Kim

Judy Sulsona, consultant for MOBAC, would like to meet with SPLAMBA to give us the opportunity to give input to the future direction of MOBAC. This Strategic Plan Meeting needs to be sometime between February 15 and February 28. Since there is no meeting scheduled for February, Don will contact her to discuss options

 

Text Messaging Service – Ben

  • An inexpensive way to remind customers about events ( especially teens and young parents)
  • Info and video on SPLAMBA facebook
  • Could later be expanded to give civic action alerts
  • $20/ mo for two keywords (two groups)
  • Customers self-subscribe
  • Start Pilot in March or April to build up clientele for summer reading programs?
  • Use SPLAMBA money or libraries share cost?
  • MCFL the test library? Ruth will speak to MCFL Administrators to see if interested
  • Other interested libraries should contact Ben

 

Workshop Planning

Susan is working on setting up speakers. Their schedules will determine the date of the event in March.

Summer Reading Program

Karen has spoken to the Aquarium. She handed out a list a contact numbers for free programs. If you would like to be included in possible prizes, respond to her email ASAP.
